Bullet For My Valentine/Halestorm – House of Blues Dallas, 4/23/13

Last night I was very fortunate to attend this show, as it was sold out. First up was Halestorm..

Halestorm

Opening with “Freak Like Me” and then “Love Bites (So Do I)” the band was in top form. Lzzy Hale commands the stage like someone with 10 albums and tours under her belt, and her drummer brother Arejay plays like a creature with ten limbs!

Slowing down for a moment, Lzzy took to the piano to play one of my personal favorites “Break In” , and it was beautiful live.

“Here’s To Us” was the highlight for me, as it is a ready-made song for drinking with your friends. “Miss The Misery” ended things balls-to-the-wall, but you could tell the crowd wanted a longer set.

Bullet For My Valentine

Bullet For My Valentine hit us with “Breaking Point” and “Your Betrayal” to start things off, and I knew we were in for one helluva show!

Matthew Tuck’s vocals were front and center as they tore through “Riot”, “P.O.W.” and the title track off newest (AND BEST) album Temper Temper, and the band was a well-oiled machine.

Lead guitarist Michael “Padge” Paget and Tuck play extremely well together, and they are one of the tightest bands I have ever seen.

Lzzy came out and joined Matthew to share lead vocals on “Dirty Little Secret” and it brought the fucking house down!!

The encores were “Pleasure and Pain” and award-winning fan favorite “Tears Don’t Fall”, which left all of us in Dallas viciously rocked, and eagerly awaiting the next time they come to town.
