This show was the last of DORO’S 30 Years Strong and Proud Tour. The mood at the Gramercy Theater was very festive right from the start. The openers of the night were MIDNIGHT ETERNAL, METALFIER, THE MIGHTY SWINE (friends of ours here at A&GS!), and FLAMES OF FURY. Fortunately for me, METALFIER hooked us up with a photo pass, and a good camera could be brought in to take shots of this amazing concert; each band put on a great show!
DORO played an amazing nearly two hour long set filled and was joined throughout by many of her friends. People literally came from all over the world to either witness or take part in this show. Guest appearances were made from metal legends such as Bobby Blitz from OVERKILL, Jeff Waters of ANNIHILATOR, Veronica Freeman from BENEDICTUM, Leather Leone, Jean Beauvoir, and Chris Caffery (SAVATAGE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA).
During one of the final songs, “All We Are” the stage was crowded with all who took part in the live metal music. The entire show, the audience was riled up, singing along, “HEY! HEY! HEY!” and banging their heads. The way she commands the crowd is absolutely unrivaled. Her charm is profound and her energy is positivity infectious.
On top of all the great festivities, DORO and the band stuck around afterwards for a meet and greet. Having been one of the lucky ones to see all this in person, it is obvious as to why she is such a legend: she puts the fans, her family, first. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
