Photo Gallery: Black Label Society Brings ‘Unblackened’ To The Paramount – Huntington, NY – 4/3/15

Staff photographer Brian Matus was fortunate enough to catch BLACK LABEL SOCIETY at The Paramount doing something you don’t see every day, the stripped down Unblackened show, showcasing the band in a much different light, an acoustic-flavored one. If you’ve ever heard these versions of BLS classics such as “Stillborn”, you know how how cool it is when a band totally rearranges something heavy and turns it into something beautiful. Zakk Wylde says, “You can take a song that you’ve played thousands of times and rearrange it, and all of a sudden it’s something totally fresh. The attitude of the songs doesn’t change when we play them acoustically — the tunes are gritty regardless.” And according to Brian that is exactly how they sounded Friday night.
