Sharknado: The 4TH Awakens Is Nonsense But That’s OK!!

Sharknado: The 4th Awakens is interesting because I have read a LOT of reviews of this movie, both good and bad. But I’m here to tell you that the franchise is alive and well and STILL kickin’ ass!! The jokes are utterly ridiculous, and the amount of celebrity cameos are even MORE ridiculously ridiculous. Veterans Ian Ziering and Tara Reid look like they’re having fun the whole way, and why wouldn’t they? The plot is a little over the top…no, scratch that, it is VERY over the top. But, everyone digs in and does their best to make their characters believable.

Celebrities like Patti Stanger, Natalie Morales, and Al Roker, (all members of the NBC family) have roles that help to keep the movie rolling and people like me cracking up. Tommy Davidson is the billionaire that has kept the world Sharknado-free for five years, but as usual in movies like this, there’s a glitch in his technology and all Sharky-Hell breaks loose! At this point the D-List celebs start dropping like flies after only a few minutes of screen-time (Vince Neil, Jillian Barberie, Carrot Top, Adrian Zmed) because they are all food for the sharks.

Gary Busey shows up (there’s words I never thought I’d say!) as a Mad Scientist, The Hoff (David Hasselhoff) is back as Fin’s (Ziering) Dad, and a bunch of blonde stupid reality stars butcher their lines horribly. But the biggest thing that slapped me across the face was Masiela Lusha and how great she was in this movie, as well as being hotter than the sidewalk in Georgia in the middle of July!! This girl could conquer the world and I sincerely hope she does. She was without a doubt the best character in this latest installment. A tremendous actress!!

Other great moments include a Chippendale dancer deflecting a shark with his crotch and cameos by Baywatch veterans Alexandra Paul and Gena Lee Nolin. Stacey Dash (yep, THAT Stacey Dash) also shows up as the mayor of Chicago (OY, right???). At the end of the day I laughed my fucking ass off many times during this movie, and it was nice to see the franchise just be silly again after the heavy-handedness at times of the last chapter. I think fans of this series will enjoy the fourth installment very much. If you’ve never seen one before just strap in and get ready for some cheesy shark-eating-people goodness!!

P.S. Sharknado 5 is DEFINITELY happening!!!
