Reo Speedwagon and Chicago: Music Under the Stars at Dos Equis Pavilion!! – Dallas, TX 6/29/18

Looking for an unforgettable night of romance and fun? Dallas has a great venue for that under the stars at Dos Equis Pavilion. Bring chairs and a blanket and someone sweet to snuggle. They supplied all of the romantic love songs from REO SPEEDWAGON and then happy Music from CHICAGO. I would say this is the perfect couples night. You can even rent chairs if you forgot yours. I would make this one of my top Dallas perfect dates.

REO’S song list is a well put together collection of their hits. I loved the part when lead singer and guitarist Kevin Cronin went to the piano and told us about how he woke up one night with three notes in his head. The song often demands to be written. That night he sat down at the piano and wrote his biggest hit. He changes not only the life of the band but all those who fell in love to this song. “Keep On Loving You” has been played at more weddings than most others. REO SPEEDWAGON ended their night with “Listen to Her Heart” by the late Tom Petty.

Sitting in a cool breezeway I could hear the horns, echoing throughout the pavilion, happy fans stopping to listen and keep beat with the hopping music. The band provided their guests with an extensive light and video show. The room was saturated with sweat and silky sultry sounds from CHICAGO. The rolling screens blossomed matching mystical patterns, a vivid color journey of sights and sounds. They pulled out all of the visual stops and effects for the crowd’s delight. Earlier it was around the 100 degrees mark. After CHICAGO started playing it felt like the air came on fully to cool off the night.

The band worked through a magical trip of their hits. By the time we got to “25 or 6 to 4” the crowd was all in. They were mesmerized by the band. I was surprise how many different vocalists there were. Everyone in this group is so talented and these guys put on the best show. Bands these days really do give their fans 100 percent. Gone are the days of 60-minute concerts. If you come plan to stay a while because CHICAGO loves to entertain. What a perfect night of romance and concert fun. I enjoyed the big band sound and counting the stars onstage and off.
